My Favorite Things – Relaxing Girlie Stuff

Hmmmm. I can’t decide if Girlie Stuff is exactly the right way to say it. Well, you’ll get what I’m saying when I share my favorites. This is pampering, girlie, make-up type stuff.

1. VELVET LIQUID EYE LINER

This is the best eye liner I’ve ever used! I found it at a Women’s Expo and bought it because the lady I was with couldn’t quit talking about how much she loved it. She bought seven. I decided to give it a try. It is pretty amazing! It goes on smooth and stays on all day long. Plus, it uses a soft brush so you can get thick or thin lines really easily. My favorite colors are gray and black.

2. MIGI NAIL ART

These nail art pens are so stinkin fun! I also found these at the same women’s expo as the eyeliner. They are kind of expensive to buy in the beginning, but after you buy them you can register the set and get free refills for life by only paying the shipping cost of something like $2 per pen. You can even use your refills on different colors not included in the original set! My daughter is completely addicted to these.

3. LUSH BUBBLE BATH BARS

It’s a pretty good thing that there isn’t a Lush store anywhere near where I live or I would be there every week buying bubble bath bars. These babies bubble like crazy! I usually break up the bar and spread it across several baths so they don’t seem quite so expensive. I. LOVE. THESE!!!

4. PYT CERAMIC HAIR STRAIGHTENER and PYT CURLING WAND

 I used to be a big believer in cheap straighteners and curling irons. Until I tried these. Actually, I only ever straightened my hair to smooth it before I found these babies. I have incredibly straight hair. I remember getting ready for prom in high school and spending hours trying to get the curls to stay in my hair. Within an hour they were all gone. The PYT curling wand is like magic to my hair. It uses infrared heat and actually gets the curl to stay put! I’ve had tons of fun with my daughter’s hair! The other thing I love is how fast it curls my hair. If I use big chunks, I can have my whole head curled in 10 minutes. They do get super hot, though, so be careful with kids. (And FYI – they do melt doll hair. A little something my daughter found out when she was in a styling mood without mom’s help one day).

5. MAYBELLINE NEW YORK SUPERSTAY 24 in Forever Chestnut

 
I was not really a regular lipstick wearer until I discovered this stuff. They really don’t lie when they say 24 hour. I put it on in the morning and it stays on all day even with all of the eating and drinking I do. I often wake up the next morning and can see the previous days lipstick on. So now, even though I don’t leave the house very often and the only people that see me are my kids and husband, I wear this stuff pretty much every day.

I hope you guys are enjoying this series. I’ve been wanting to do something similar for a while. I always love seeing what other people use and recommend. I’ll have a few more tomorrow. =)
